Social responsibility, cross-sectoral cooperation and social entrepreneurship

PDCS-PANET systematically works in the field of corporate social responsibility and cross-sector cooperation and, in particular, corporate involvement in community development. We provide analytical, consultancy, information sharing, and educational services in this area.

We analyze corporate social responsibility at the national as well as regional levels, facilitate access to national and international information resources, promote best practices, help increase awareness and encourage networking of key players in this topic.

We help develop the concept of social entrepreneurship both at the methodology level by sharing know-how or at the project level by consulting on specific social economy projects.

Project examples

In the international research-oriented project The Way It Works of the Carpathian Foundation, we worked with partners from Romania, Hungary, and Poland to produce an analysis of and recommendations for development of corporate social responsibility in the Carpathian region.

We contributed to opening of discussion on public benefit status of NGOs in Slovakia in cooperation with the Open Society Foundation Slovakia. We prepared background materials, produced publications, developed a website and participated in discussion roundtables and conferences on this topic.

Working with co-authors, we wrote the first truly local Slovak publication on the topic of corporate social responsibility Spoločensky zodpovedné podnikanie. Prehľad základných princípov a príkladov. 

In partnership with the International Youth Foundation Slovakia, PANET implemented the Cross-Sector Cooperation Program aimed to increase awareness about and achieve systematic progress in cooperation among public, business, and nonprofit sectors.

Since 2004, PANET, jointly with the International Youth Foundation Slovakia, has administered the information portal on professionalization and financing of NGOs, cross-sector cooperationand corporate social responsibility www.partnerstva.sk.

In 2002 we were the first and only to formulate the strategic-action plan for the development of corporate social responsibility, cross-sector cooperation, and corporate philanthropy. It was comprised of a comprehensive package of 22 ideas for projects to improve systematic conditions for corporate social responsibility in Slovakia.

Our experience

We participated actively in a number of conferences, seminars and discussion fora both nationally and internationally. We provided consultancy services to several grant programs. We helped nonprofit organizations and socially responsible businesses develop their business plans. We conducted market research and formulated profiles of potential business partners to be addressed by nonprofit organizations.
